With a vacation coming up, we were thinking of traveling to Singapore & the surrounding areas. Singapore, apart from the excitement of it’s oriental culture, has a separate lure as well. It is just a couple of hours flight from Calcutta, India.
Planning a budget travel on your own is not easy. I looked up Expedia, Travelocity et all but did not find anything to suit my budget. I have heard from other travelers that Singapore accommodation requires early booking.
I always thought that the general recession across the globe would get me some cheap deals. As such we pride ourselves in being the last moment traveler. Many time, it is just a few days before when we decide to pack our bags & leave.
Last minute travel arrangements could be a big money saver. Flight cancellations leave open tickets that are sold over the internet at dirt cheap prices.
However, being one of the busiest cities in the world, planning for Bangkok could be as easy or difficult as say Boston or San Francisco. We are hoping on last minute deals for our Bangkok accommodation arrangements.
So although we did not expect to save much on the flight to & from US to Singapore, we wanted to save on the hotels & flights in Singapore, Bangkok & Kualu Lumpur. We are looking up for Kualu Lumpur accomodation very cheap since we would probably be staying there for over 4 days.
It would probably have been easy if we had handed out the travel arrangements to a professional travel agent. That would have been the case if it were a business travel. But then, doing it on our own will save us a couple of hundred dollars & we are absolutely sure that we will get the best internet travel deals, even though it is going to be a short notice vacation!
