I have been wanting to get some National Geographic & Discovery DVDs on natural history. But except for the Planet Earth released in 2008 I could not find the new documentaries that are aired.
But when I checked with the Direct TV programs I got to know that all the Nat Geo as well as BBC & Discovery Channels are available in high definition & they are all recordable.
Direct T V has all the essential & popular channels at very attractive prices – and for the channels that I usually opt for, I would actually save more money compared to the cable channels.
There are numerous promotions throughout the year that could get you free channels for months together. And the number of channels offered by DirectTV are almost 3 times more compared to my cable TV providers.
I am still trying to find out if there are any legal issues in recording the programs on National Geographic or BBC on the DVR. The picture quality is superior & having the ability to record programs from the channels is a great option. I would be able to save the latest shows that may not eventually be released in any DVD at all!
