Carolinas

The beautiful Carolinas encompass some of the most fascinating & natural regions of American landscape. From the Atlantic coast on the east with its beautiful piers & amazing sunrises to the National Forests & the Appalachians on the western end, the Carolinas are a photographers’ paradise all through the year.

The North & South Carolina states along the Atlantic coast in Eastern are some of the most beautiful states in the USA. I was fortunate to be in Charlotte, North Carolina for a couple of years (from 2015 through 2018). During this time, I photographed through the states of both North & South Carolina, from the coast to some of the Smokey & Cherokee mountains.

I loved the numerous waterfalls on the east especially the region around Pisgah National Forest & further west to the Appalachian & the Smoky Mountains.

Most of these are available on large prints.

This is the Grassy Falls in the Smoky Mountains. It is a short walk from the main road, through some private properties & then a final steep climb down to the base of the waterfall.

The wall-to-wall large panorama prints look beautiful & transports you right to the cold breeze and the mist of the fall.

The fishing piers on the Atlantic Coast are a marvel to watch & photograph. Fortunately for me, I always shoot these sort of locations in the dead of winter when I can afford to have the whole coastline to myself.

The Outer Banks, or OBX, is one of the vacation places reaching into the Atlantic Ocean & connected by a short strip of land.

The place boasts of miles of pristine beaches, wild horses, grand waves for surfing, major winds for paragliding & fishing piers that extend what seems like miles into the ocean!

Some of the piers are already gone – the numerous strong hurricanes that hit the Carolina coast during 2016 & 2018 caused tremendous loss of lives and wiped out a lot of the piers and coastal beauty.
