The mid-southern American states have quite a different type of beauty and form compared to the more obvious landscapes of either of the coastal states and New England. I was fortunate to be in Memphis, Tennessee for a couple of years. During this time, I photographed through the states of Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama & Louisiana.
I love the open, almost flat landscapes of the American mid-south. Summer time brings in huge clouds that you can see gather, change shapes and color and often watch the rain come towards you.

Clouds in Color
Most of these are photographed in & around the outskirts of Memphis, mostly along some of the backroads. There are more articles on backroads photography here.
