The Looking Glass Falls is a very popular attraction to tourists & nature lovers exploring the western side of North Carolina and the Pisgah National Forest area. The best season to photograph is certainly the rainy seasons and autumn. During rain, the waterfall and the streams take on a whole mystical look and is worth absorbing.
This image is the second of my experience in 20+ years of photography that will be in my mind for a long time. The first such experience was in Maine where I drove 500 miles with two of my close friends but due to our car breaking down, we had to take a taxi cab back home. Along with the towing cost, the total expense for that ride was a whopping US$1000!
This image beats that mark by 66%! I dropped my D800 with the Nikon 14-24 mm brand new lens right into a huge puddle. I froze for a minute, staring blankly down at my camera in the clear water. That one minute cost me US$ 4000!
