Of all the seasons I loved photographing in the mid-south, I loved spring & summer. Apart from the beautiful mid-south wildflowers, I photographed the beautiful clouds in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi & Missouri.
The backroad drives during spring & autumn are rewarding while the open skies and the huge farm lands in summer brings opportunities to photograph the storm clouds and the rain & the most beautiful sunrises & sunsets.
The pictures above are farms in Arkansas & Tennessee at sunset. The golden crop glittered in the golden rays of the setting sun along highway 64 & Interstate 40.
These pictures are north of Memphis just before a major storm. The sun & the rain clouds danced wildly and while the clouds loomed & roared, the sun would occasionally break through with its fiery brilliance over the corn fields.
