Trees

I love photographing trees, especially the oaks & maples & the pines, at sunrise or sunset, when the light is just right to magnify the grandeur of these massive, strong & beautiful creations.

Right around fall the mornings are filled with mist and the cotton plants are almost in full bloom everywhere, making great opportunities for great pictures.

Mid-south America, the states of Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas & Missouri have these beautiful maples, oaks & pines almost everywhere.

If you drive around the backroads of any of these places, you could find these trees standing tall & strong year round.

I often photograph the same tree over & over again, at various hours, in different seasons & always find something new, different & inspiring about them everytime.

Sometimes things do not go by any plan. The camera behaves abruptly, the auto-focus does not work as expected, the meter goes haywire and everything that should not happen, happen. Once in a while, I am lucky to have all these go wrong and yet manage to get a beautiful picture of a tree in winter at sunset.

The trees take on a completely different make-up in autumn. Whether the colors last for a week or a month, the rain soaks them up into brilliantly saturated colors every time.

The morning mist, fog, the cold in the air and the wind of an wintry morning may not be the best time to ou out early morning to find trees but when you do, the images are bound to be great!
