More Memphis Murals on Linden Avenue

I chanced upon this treasure trove of murals on Linden Avenue about a couple of miles from downtown Memphis in Tennessee. The area seems to bear the evidence of a dying city, with huge deserted warehouses and what was once thriving factories providing jobs to hundreds of people are now barely able to hold the plaster on the bricks, battling the worst forms of blight,

An abandoned warehouse along Linden Avenue had a lot of wall paintings inside as well. However, darkness, fungus and dust stopped me from trying to take pictures inside the warehouse.

There is one interesting painting in this lot. A mural of the Indian god Ganesha, widely revered in Hinduism as the Lord of the Communities who remove obstacles, natural calamities and leads people into prosperity, quite apt for times like these.
