In the past 6 months, since we made Tennessee our home for a little while, I have been exploring the back roads, dirt roads and many of the state routes in and around Memphis. My interest has been those that are often not traveled mostly to the north of Memphis, like this one below.
Roads like these are very common around where I am, in the small town of Arlington, about 35 miles East of Memphis. Away from the crowds these roads holds a quietness to themselves, a loneliness that is so enticing.

I could stand in the middle of the road for over 15 minutes doing these images without been disturbed by a drive-by or even a squirrel! Rain is almost throughout the year. Rain and occasional morning mist creates very saturated colors. And even though there was no real “fall season” in 2020, some leaves did turn yellow early this year.
