There are numerous South Maine Beaches that could be great photo locations. I was living within minutes of numerous such beaches. Early morning, especially in summer, numerous surfers and paddle boarders would flock to these beaches for fun.

Needless to say these South Maine Beaches are hot spots for local photographers. This beach just south of Portland, Maine, offers photographers excellent choices of composition for sunrise photography as well as sunset photography. Summer has its added advantages. For one, there are numerous surfers. And they could help you get extremely unique images of surfing. Though the waves would not be as attractive as the West Coast.
Secondly, early mornings in Summer could get you a lot of mist. The beaches take on a completely different mood when, for miles at a stretch, the mist and the fog starts to clear with the rising sun. Maine & its beaches are a photographer’s paradise. It provides year round opportunities to photograph nature, or just rocky coastal photos, or action shots of surfers!
