The mid-southern American states have quite a different type of beauty and form compared to the more obvious landscapes of either of the coastal states and New England. I was fortunate to be in Memphis, Tennessee for a couple of years (from 2018 through 2021). During this time, I photographed through the states of Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama & Louisiana.
Farms & Barns
I loved the open, almost flat landscapes of the region, surrounded by the mountainous regions of Arkansas on the West, the Blue Ridges of the East & the Gulf coast on the South. Most of these are available on large prints.

Waterfalls of the mid-south
The best of the waterfalls are on the eastern part of Tennessee, closer to Smoky Mountains.
On the west is the Ozark National Forest that has innumerable waterfalls, streams & rivers.
Wildflowers
The mid-south states of America glows in various colors of the wild flowers in spring through summer.
Huge landscapes get new carpets of colors from asters, bee balms, sunbursts, columbines, winterberries & buttercups.
The Backroads
Some of the most alluring drives are along the backroads of Tennessee. Driving through often large open lands, or through the dirt roads leading into the cotton fields or just the roads with trees all around.

One of the best places to find amazing murals & wall paintings & street art. There are over 200 beautiful murals in & around Memphis, many tucked away in cobblestone lanes & around dilapidated houses.
